Portsoy

Back on the coast road leading away from Fordyce is the small town of Portsoy. Here the visitor can still find crafts people following a long tradition of working with the locally quarried green serpentine or Portsoy marble as it is known.

Once a thriving herring port the picturesque 17 th century harbour is the main attraction to the visitor. Nowadays it provides shelter to lobster and crab creels and provides the focus for the town's annual Scottish Traditional Boat Festival.
